Program Highlight (L6): “Meet the Editor – writing for the special LEPH journal issues” An introduction to the Journal of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing

Lawrie Elliot is Editor and Chief of the Journal of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing – @jpmhnursing.  He trained as a Mental Health Nurse in Glasgow (UK)  before moving into public health research in the 1990s. He was a Senior Lecturer and Reader at the University of Dundee (UK), and he became a Professor upon a move to Edinburgh Napier University in 2005.  He has since taken up his second Professorial post at Glasgow Caledonian University in 2016.

He has a substantial track record in applied Public Health research and published numerous high quality papers including a report with colleagues for the World Health Organisation on health inequalities (2006). His expertise centres on the evaluation of public health interventions which include needle exchange, methadone and sexual health programmes, and community nursing.
